Updates in the Life of Bruce Pope

 

On Friday, May 6th Bruce attended a special breakfast meeting with Steve Forbes, Chairman of Forbes Media and John Schlifske, Northwestern Mutual’s CEO in Charlotte, N.C.  These were two pillars of the financial world at one exclusive event.

 

Bruce met with Representative Mick Mulvaney in Rock Hill, SC on Friday, May 20th with other members of NAIFA-SC.  They discussed issues impacting financial security for people in his district.

 

On Friday, June 3rd Bruce attended his final state board meeting with Learning Ally.  As a founding member of this organization in SC he remains committed to help people with print disabilities.

 

Bruce was the main speaker at a meeting of financial professionals in Charleston, SC on Wednesday, June 8th.

 

On Tuesday, June 16-18 Bruce attended the NAIFA-SC Annual Conference in Clemson, SC.

 

Bruce went with 40+ boy scouts to Camp Barstow the week of June 19-25th.  They worked on leadership development and earned merit badges for special skills.

 

The week of July 4th Bruce and his family went to Garden City Beach, SC.  Spending time with his family is very important.

 

Bruce and his family went to Tallahassee, FL where he grew up July 27-31.  This is where Bruce’s family and many friends live.

 

On August 5-7, Bruce and family attended the Scott Family Reunion in Myrtle Beach, SC.  This was Nancy’s side of the family.

 

Scouts from Troop 10 went camping and canoeing the weekend of August 26-28.  Fun was had by all.

 

On August 30, 2011 Bruce and other members of NAIFA-SC met with Representative James Clyburn at his district office in Columbia.  They discussed taxation, health care and financial regulations.  Many of these issues were important to discuss with him prior to his start on the Super Committee.

 

Bruce attended the NAIFA Annual Conference in Washington, DC on September 10-14.  He was honored to be selected by the national president to be a member of the Government Relations Committee.  While in Washington he met with some of our SC legislative delegation.

 

On October 11th, Bruce and other members of NAIFA-SC met with SC Governor Nikki Haley to sign a proclamation for Life Insurance Awareness Month.

 

The weekend of November 4-6, Bruce went camping with the boy scouts in Camden, SC.  This was the Indian Waters Council Camporee.

In April, Bruce Pope and Learning Ally teamed up to help provide more resources to children in South Carolina. Bruce thinks the world of this organization whose mission is simply to serve people who cannot effectively read standard print because of a visual impairment, dyslexia, or other physical disabilities. www.learningally.org
